2010 – 2011 Road Maintenance Bids Solicited
Greene Acres Property Owners Association is requesting contract bids for road maintenance from July 15, 2010, through May 15, 2011. To bid, please click on the link below, print and complete the form and return to the GAPOA Board per instructions by the July 9th deadline. If you can’t print the bid document, put the information requested in Section II along with your bid in writing and mail to the GAPOA Board.

Security Gate Passes
Security gate passes were not mailed out in time for Memorial Day weekend due to unforeseen problems activating the gate. Once the gate is operating, passes will be mailed to each owner with a notification as to when the gate will be activated.
Liens to be Filed for Delinquent Assessments
Final requests are being mailed to property owners whose 2010 assessments are still delinquent or who did not include the $35 late fee with their late payment. Liens will be processed in 30 days against all properties that still owe assessments or late fees.
Board Elections/Annual Meeting July 10
Three Board of Trustee positions will be up for election on July. If you are new to Greene Acres, this is a good way to meet people and understand how Greene Acres is maintained by the association. These volunteer positions are also an excellent opportunity to contribute your talents to your own neighborhood. If you are interested in being on the board, please come to the May 8 meeting and offer your name, or contact the Nominating Chairperson Marc Beifuss at 985-1867, or email your name and phone number to gapoaboard@yahoo.com. The board generally meets 4 times a year to make decisions about how the assessments are used to maintain the subdivision.
Clean Your Culverts
Please clean out the culverts at the end of your driveway in order to prevent backup of water flow and flooding of the roads. These culverts are your property and your responsibility – not the association’s! While the association pays for regular road grading, that person is not paid to clean out private driveway culverts, although he has been doing it anyway where severe road flooding has been taking place.
Burn Laws in Effect
Greene County spring burning laws are in effect in Greene Acres until April 30. No burning is allowed until after 4 pm and no barrel burning of household trash, plastics, rubber, and other toxic materials is allowed. Absolutely no burning of construction materials is allowed; these materials must be hauled away. Fires from yard cleanup must be attended at all times if they are within 150’ of dry brush. Please call the Sheriff’s department at 985-2222 to report illegal burning and let the board know with an email to gapoaboard@yahoo.com.
New Communications
This new website has been created and is being managed by a new volunteer and Greene Acres resident, Brian Snyder. Our sincere thanks go to him as well as to Sandy Mullins who managed our previous site for several years. GAPOA governing docs and other documents that comprise the disclosure package that is required for the sale of your home can now be downloaded from the website. This saves both you and the association the cost of printing and mailing these documents. We are very fortunate to be able to provide this web site service to our community at no cost. Additionally, the board has set up an email to receive comments or questions at gapoaboard@yahoo.com.
